People go on vacation to take a break from their daily grind. Funny thing is, we marvel and revel in the places we go to visit when to someone else it’s just home. But have you ever stopped to think about where you live and how great it is? If you live in the suburbs of New Jersey or Canada, probably not (just kidding). But for those of us city dwellers with the world at our fingertips it’s a different story. People in Manhattan go away to “get out of the city” but there’s so much to appreciate about life in the big apple than we realize.

We stumbled upon this gem and not only is this video superbly edited, it makes us damn proud to be able to live in New York.

Commissioned by STA Travel Australia Rick, Tim and Andrew took the trip of a lifetime going through 11 countries in 44 days. Using two cameras and taking 18 flights, the trio created three beautiful and compelling short films based on the movement, learning and food.

I have two umbrellas: one is small and packed away in my work bag and the other is large for monsoon weather. Aside from the fact that I never remember to bring either, when I do, the little umbrella does little to really shield me from the rain. My head is dry but my pants, my shirt and anything outside the limited range of the umbrella is immediately soaked. When i bring the big guy, I cant really get through the streets correctly and generally, it’s a pain in the ass to store.

Designer Athanasia Leivaditou did some design work and blew my mind with her revamped umbrella jacket. It’s so simple and it’s highly functional! It’s bittersweet that we file this design under “why didn’t we think of it” as it just makes sense and looks good too.

IN this video, a man in london hid nine thousand pounds and set up a tricky Da Vinci Style code to find it. Not a lot of people did but one person did and filmed his adventure. Here is the story and it’s freaking crazy. We can’t even figure out it’s real but damn it if it’s awesome. Check it out, this is an easy Huevalman.

I’m not sure when Food Trucks became insanely popular but I do know that they serve some insanely good food at a bargain prices made by extremely skilled chefs. While this might seem like strictly a New York problem, this could easily be a problem for any city, what’s the problem you ask? In Manhattan, there’s an old law that forbids these food trucks from parking and selling their goods (food). So yeah, that’s the problem but we can be part of the solution.
So watch the video and see what you think.

A little helps a lot and if you’re signature helps keep some people in business and provide people with some food, then sign away.
